Sinabro: About me

I attended University of California, Berkeley, during which time I learned all I know now and I took up all I believe now.

Pictures

I like to fancy myself as an amateur photographer. I was going to make a "Pictures" section on my website, but then, when I considered the costs (mostly in bandwidth and storage—probably more in storage), I thought I'd let Flickr carry that burden. I have nothing there yet, but I hope to fill it some time soon.

My public key

If you need to contact me about something sensitive (although I can't imagine what), please encrypt it using this key. I had to regenerate my key recently, so unfortunately it's not signed by anyone—sorry about that. You can also get this key from your nearest key server (key ID: 52A4D4D7).

Wall of shame

I try to live by the same rule Free Software Foundation sets for itself, and as far as my personal computers go, I can say that I use absolutely no proprietary software, except for the binary firmware for ipw2200*. Every now and then, if I have to use proprietary software, I "cheat" by using another computer in the office, which has that proprietary application installed, through no faults of mine.

* Now I use SerialMonkey drivers for the wireless card in my new laptop. Although this also has a binary-only firmware, according to the developers, this firmware handles only strictly hardware functions, such as timing, etc., so it's not as insidious as the ipw2200 firmware. You can make your own judgment, but I think that the fact rt2x00-supported cards can be used for packet injection speaks for itself.
