When you define your own “work hour” (… such as a student or a researcher), a holiday doesn’t really mean anything. And what’s especially maddening is … a lot of public services and customer service centers get closed on holidays. I have something urgent that I would really like to take care of now … but because of this blooming New Year’s, I have to wait until tomorrow to take care of it.
